Drain Issues
Clogged drains are a fact of life in any home. At some point, your kitchen sink or bathroom shower drain will need to be cleaned to remove drain clogs that obstruct the drain. It's always best to try and avoid clogged drain situations in the first place. Never use sinks and toilets as waste baskets. Do not shove grease down the drain, or flush diapers or sanitary products down your toilet. These are some of the most common causes of clogged drains. Run hot water through your drains to remove any grease that may have began to clog. Take care not to place shells, bones, coffee grounds and other objects into your garbage disposal. Use strainers to cover all bath tubs and shower drains, and keep these clean.
Make sure you have a toilet and sink plunger handy at all times to clean clogged drains in an emergency. For instance, in case of a clogged toilet drain simply plunge 15 to 20 times, and keep pouring water regularly down the toilet. This should be enough to remove any obstructions. In case of a kitchen sink drain, use a plunger to dislodge any clog. If this doesn't work, insert a plumber's snake into the drain. Turn the handle until you can feel the hook attach itself to the clog. Fish out the clog in this manner. This also works with bathroom shower drains.
It doesn't take much to keep your drains clean, and when you do end up with a clogged drain, a little help from your plunger should be enough to clean the drain. If all these doesn't help however, hire a professional drain cleaning company to remove the clog. We can help you find professional drain cleaning contractors in Sacramento.
